it's green day!

here it is, st. patrick's day. a day of shamrock (something living and natural) and a day of green (something beautiful). because we are celebrating a "natural," "beautiful," "living," and "green" day, it could be the kick-off to our upcoming earth month (april) and living kindly with the earth. a stretch -- well, maybe.

we decided to celebrate the day living it up GREEN. lets take a look at what has been green in our lives today:

1. our lawn is slowing showing signs of life, greening up in a few patches. we're holding off on the mowing until april this year.
2. sprouts of "april gold" are well on their way (soon-to-be daffodils).
3. freshly cut green apples waiting to be eaten by two little girls.

4. in an attempt to live green, we used pedal power to take us on a few errands. ugggh. not such a great idea with 150 mph winds(!!). as we returned from the post office, the bike was standing still. no lie.

5. the columbia river had a nice greenish-blue tint to it...as we had plenty of time to gaze at the h20 and the whitecaps while in transit along the river trail.

6. a subtle shade of green was the way i looked and felt after finishing the windy pedal tour.

7. waking up to green kitty eyes glaring at me after a minute of shut-eye (trango really does have some lovely green kitten eyes!).

8. enjoying some
green day tunes to awaken the senses and complete this entry!
9. dying the whipped cream green for f.h.e. treats (thanks terramisu!).

happy green day to you!
