friends.

i recently celebrated another birthday and received a most cherished letter from a faraway friend. this is the type of letter that i will keep and read often to bring a smile to my face. she mentioned memories that we have shared. good times and quite entertaining times. how can a memory from 12 years ago seem like a memory from yesterday? thank you, my friend.

today i received fresh flowers from a close friend. just because. she heard i was a little under the weather. thank you, my friend.

a few days ago i received a phone call from a special friend who is making a big life change. i work with her and cherish her wisdom and patience. hopefully now i will see her more often because i need her positive attitude. good luck and thank you, my friend.

today i received dinner from a new friend who wanted to provide a service because i had a baby...yes, it has been three months, but a good meal is ALWAYS appreciated when a new one is in the house! thank you, my friend.

the other day i received a special card from a lovely friend with an emphasis on gratitude. she reminded me of all that i have to be grateful for...so many blessings. including friendship. in her note, she writes, "when we daily count our blessings, we feel better about life, even in the midst of adversity; we garner a strength of character and largeness of soul that will help us through hard times; and we see life as basically good, despite its challenges and heartaches." thank you, my friend.

yesterday i spoke with a family friend who listens and remembers what is most important to me. she doesn't judge and she certainly doesn't pretend to be something that she is not. thank you, my friend.

a few days ago we had an enjoyable evening with friends that made us laugh. how fun it is to be with those who make us feel comfortable and share who they are. thank you, my friends.

i am eternally grateful for the friendships that i have with so many beautiful people. reading this emphasized my need to be a better friend.
