weekend variety.

while at the soccer game on saturday, ella felt that she was playing too much and asked to rest on the sidelines with some water. this is her coach. not only has she picked dandelions for him, but she also has gifted him with beautifully colored princess pictures.

this is sophia sleeping for at least two hours in the middle of the day. she fell asleep just as we were about to plant our family garden. she tends to sleep at the most opportune times -- when work is about to be done.

the five year old instructing the hired help in our home. she tells us when we do things incorrectly. rarely does she tell us when we are doing things right...

on saturday evening i was accompanied by my two little girls to the mid-columbia academy ballet spring performance, PETER AND THE WOLF. the girls loved the evening and behaved better than expected during the performance. the three year old thought the cat was hilarious and laughed a little too hysterically at times, causing many to glance our way. towards the end of the evening the three year old also felt the incessant need to lay her head on the chair with her legs in the air. i was reprimanded each time i dared to correct her as she loudly exclaimed, "mom! don't touch me. i'm fine!" love that independence. hmmm.

and finally, the sunday morning picture that always ends in tears. somehow i captured this photo before leif hit sophia and sadness occurred.
