talking about love

today as i was enjoying a walk with two little girls, the topic of valentine's day and "love" came up. since we had some time on our hands, ms. ellie reviewed all the people and things that she loves. some of the highlights were: "daddy, sister so-so, irie, t-t, jesus ("mommy, when jesus was born he was a baby and now he is a man" -- this sentence finds it's way into our conversations quite often), grandma & grandpa, oma & opa, my sleeping beauty gown, ted, my primary teacher, my red hair, the sky, trees, flowers, mountains, beetles, ladybugs, water, cookies, pigs, mrs. wagoner (preschool teacher), ivy ("ivy is in heaven with grandpa ray" -- which she says whenever we talk about ivy), my friends, birdies, snakes, worms, airplanes, my family, the prophet"...ohhhh, the list went on and on. during family home evening a few weeks ago we talked about what we were each thankful for and the list was quite similar to the list presented today -- perhaps that was inspiration for a few of her remarks? i like to think that it is pure wisdom of this little girl!

i love, love, love this conversation because this little three-year-old knows what is important! she captured my words and ideas and said them in her cute little voice, exaggerating each syllable the way she does. i don't think i could pay a better tribute to all that i love...she covered all the bases! my heart is full because of these two little loves that make my day AND because i feel like my life is full of experiences and priceless people that "get it." may you feel 'the love' this day and every single day...HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO YOU!
