today the outdoor weather is feeling a little like this:

but first we must take care of some unfinished business. every time i go on a little vacation i always have a strong desire to clean my house, weed and mow the lawn, and have all errands and recycling done. these tendencies always make my life a little more hectic before the trip, but i am relieved when i leave knowing that i have taken care of the necessities so i can enjoy the luxuries. and -- i love to come home to a (mostly) clean (but usually dusty) home.
i am also so very, very thankful for friends and neighbors who take care of our sweet felines and house/yard while we are away. it is a piece of mind to have responsible and caring people in our lives. what a blessing!
the biggest dilemma of our packing chore: what to take for the girls to play with during the trip. we usually pack some favorite books, stickers, and coloring items for ms. ella.
however, our dear ms. sophia loves her (big emma) dolly, monk man, ball, and telephone, which are a bit bigger than we can fit in a little carry-on for her. i wish my daily dilemma's were always this tough :)
in other news, i wrapped up all of my work with the dear patients i am privileged to see. it is always a huge ordeal to finish up with a patient, but i think we met our goals and some successes have occurred.
i am hoping my dear husband can come home from work tonight and tell me the same great news about his work...so he can focus on packing and serious preparation for travel. i am keeping my fingers crossed.
we were going to fly a kite today, but i think we may end up in montana if we do. perhaps we can fly it when we return.
