today is dylan's 5th birthday and ella is a little disappointed that dylan is no longer 4 years old. in fact, she keeps insisting that dylan is still 4 years old like she is. she loves dylan...he's "silly" and "funny" and "crazy"...all the ingredients that make ms. ella giggle (examples of their cousin-ness: dylan taught ella how to call her sister funny names AND how to make funny faces and silly noises. yes, their relationship is sweet).
a few days ago, after we mailed dylan his birthday gifts, ella began asking about dylan's birthday party. "can i go to dylan's birthday party mommy?" sadly, i had to explain that his party is far away from our house and mommy can't take ella to the party. ella's response: "daddy will take me. it's not too far for daddy." {i love that ella believes that daddy will do anything and EVERYTHING for her. sometimes it is true.}
